Nobsound T3 MM Phono Preamp Turntable HiFi Preamp Turntable Amplifier

In general everything is fine. Properly hooked up to a Fluance RT85 system and a sound system with an amp and speakers at the other end, I can still hear a very noticeable static sound in complete silence before playing a recording. Proper grounding is strictly within specification. and this. Instructions included. This is unbearable and undesirable for an external high-end preamp. This design should be reviewed and improved. As early as 40-50 years ago, total silence static noise rejection from a built-in preamp system was much better than systems of a comparable class. Revise and improve it for better static noise reduction in complete silence before playing the record. Don't complain if someone incorrectly connected the ground wire. It is connected correctly according to specification. This may be due to Chinese quality control in some parts or an overall design flaw. While it leaves a positive impression, it still feels like someone added a few drops of bs to a well-cooked fine stew as the last step. A solid 4 star experience with a feeling that a few drops of Bs have somehow been added to a delightfully well cooked stew. There's still a lot to appreciate, but the problem is the smell. Even mid-range preamps that are comparable in price shouldn't have this problem. What was the point of built-in turntables with no preamps if embedder systems with midrange preamps and amps could handle that noise better nearly half a century ago? What then is the meaning of degradation? 4 star experience. Hardly any static noise when playing the record. Enjoy static sounds in complete silence so you know your turntable is on. You'll get it when there's no noise-cancellation after that preamp before the speakers elsewhere in the chain. Also include a good quality ground wire as it is a must for the preamp. Include a pair of thin audio cables for a complete set feel. If the price has increased by another $10 and the cables are included, then it's fine.

Pros
  • This is a preamp only and should be used with amplifiers or powered speakers.
Cons
  • Everything is fine so far
