The Amcrest 4k USB Camera (Mode: AWC897) is a rugged webcam. It is just as good as advertised with the 8MP sensor. Picture is clear, video is clear. It's detailed enough that I could use it for work calls every day, and I feel like it beats the built-in camera in my work Dell Latitude 7400. It handles exposure well and works great in dark rooms. No discoloration (green or orange face is not cute!). The mic works great and I think it sounds better than the dictaphone on my phone. Definitely worth the price and comparable to some $99+ webcams. Pros: Good image quality, accurate colors and sharp image. plug and play The microphone is excellent. Red means it is connected and not in use, Green means it is connected and in use. The form factor is small and compact without being bulky and sits nicely on my monitor. Easily adjustable to any angle. base.Cons: I've tried connecting it to my TV through a hub I use for other devices and a video chat app. It was very pixelated throughout the TV. Didn't work as well as on my work monitor and image size handling (also partly the fault of the software accessing the image). The cable is very long, I don't need the 5'9" cable, it's included behind my monitor, but it's a bit annoying that it has so much play. USB 2.0 vs 3.0, which means the quality not as high as it could be but good enough for work and school videos Not designed for the future although backwards compatibility shouldn't be an issue I received a unit for free to run and test I've had it for 14 days tested every day before I wrote a review.
