My wife and I have classes with people from different time zones. It's difficult to keep track of time in different places, so we ordered one of these to try. We like it so much that we immediately ordered a second one so as not to argue about the first. The weight is light and the size is perfect for a desk. The dial is the perfect size for a quick reading of the time. I used a label printer to add labels for different time zones. Having engravable labels would be better for a gift, although I probably wouldn't bother to engrave them for myself. Update: I received a second watch in the mail. The texture on the black base is slightly different - the wood texture isn't affected as much. Also, the hour inserts had an additional torn off plastic overflow on the frame around the dial. That made it plasticky and a bit cheap. I used a nail file to erase the extra edges. Looks nice and very useful but for the price as a gift I'd hesitate.
