I was recently diagnosed with early stage arthritis in my thumb and it really helps. I can work very comfortably wearing this brace, especially when he starts behaving. Since it's cold now I wear it almost all day and it's really comfortable to wear. I suggest not wearing it too tight as it will leave painful red marks. However, it doesn't necessarily have to be so tight that it cuts off blood flow to the thumb or wrist. I have a fairly wide wrist and thumb and this brace fits them with no problem. I've spilled food and drinks on it so I just hand wash it and let it air dry. As I have pets I have to use a brush to remove lint but other than that it's a great clip.
