Depending on the style, I wear women's shoes in 8 1/2 or 9 widths. If the shoes don't have a wide option, I always go for a 9. These shoes have over an inch (probably closer to 1 1/2 inches) at the toe. They are definitely not wide so I think reducing it to 8 would make them too narrow. However, they contract a little over the instep and spread out on the sides over the soles. I wouldn't recommend these for people with wide feet, especially if you have a high instep like me. I wanted washable summer shoes that were comfortable and more attractive than Crocs. They fit the bill and if they fit better they would be perfect.
