Review on DEWALT DCS356B 20V Max XR Oscillating Multi-Tool - Variable Speed (Tool Only) by Wiktor Michalski (Li ᠌

Perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

In general, the instrument pleases. In a spark with a Shurik, which already has a battery and a charger, it can be an alternative to many expensive tools. Of course, you won’t cut it along the board, and you won’t grind twenty squares. If you are a professional worker, you are already laughing, but for home use, where work is usually not so much, I consider it a great alternative. Comfortably lies in the hand. You take it and your finger is right on the button and you can adjust the speed by pulling the trigger. Convenient, but not always! Under certain circumstances, you will not be able to hold it with exactly the same grip as the manufacturer suggests (close space, hard-to-reach place, etc.), which means you will take the tool as it suits you at the moment, but it’s not a fact that it will be convenient for you to press the button in this position. But why not press the button in advance, fix it in the on position and work for your own pleasure? Yes, this is partly true. But if you need to perform jewelry actions at low speeds, you will have certain difficulties. Here the button is like on a screwdriver, you can adjust the speed by pressing it. But you will not be able to fix the speed you have chosen with the stopper, unless it is the maximum speed at this speed (there are 3 in total). Also, you will not be able to switch the speed when the button is already on, which is rather strange. Thus, under certain circumstances, this model loses to models with simple (sausage) handles with a forced start and speed control in the form of a twist (well, Milwaukee C12 for example). It is a little unclear that the fasteners (on both sides) for the belt clip were made, unlike the 355 model, but the clip itself was not included in the kit. Maybe they put them in richer trim levels, I don’t know. I also noticed one bug. The fixation flag is already scratched in the first five minutes of operation. If this annoys you like me, just stick a small strip of adhesive tape, thereby keeping everything in its original form.

Pros
  • Compact Powerful brushless motor Battery operation Illumination of the working area Speed adjustment (3-stage) + button like on a screwdriver Has a clip mount Comfortable ergonomic handle Keyless quick tool change (original) Two saw blades and a sanding pad included Ability to use accessories from other brands
Cons
  • Price for original equipment It is not possible to adjust the speed when it is on (release the button - switch to health) There is a mount for the clip, but it is not included in the kit itself. If this is your first tool from this company, you will have to buy additional batteries and memory
