The valve was defective.
The thread where the switching valve is screwed onto the drain valve in the tank is not cut. I messed up 2 valves and figured it out for $16 each. The on/off valve also leaked no matter what I did. Another $14 for a new on/off valve. It cost me an additional $46 to get this bidet working plus 2 trips to the Home Depot and most of the day. I should have bought the best quality from the start.
