Bye 4☆. The only reason it's 4 is because it's regular three-way wiring in the directions it tells you. As an electrician I can say that this is not the case. On rare occasions I run neutral on both sides. If there are multiple switches on the other side, there may be a neutral wire. If it is, then you need to make sure it's on the same circuit, otherwise it won't work. In any event, mine obviously didn't have a neutral wire on either side because that's how I wired it, because probably 99 percent of electricians do it that way. So I had to do a bit of rewiring, which wasn't too hard since I live on a ranch and know what I'm doing. If you live in an old house like me, chances are you all have switch loops, meaning the switch doesn't have a neutral wire. The neutral wire is in the lantern itself, and the live wire and light branch (load) are in place of the switch. So before you buy these switches, take the switch plates off your existing switches and see what you've got inside. If there is no neutral (white) wire, you will need to rewire or call an electrician to fix the problem. Remember that if you look into your box and only see 1 wire with 1 black wire and 1 white wire, the white wire is not neutral. It's a hot leg. Hope this helps some people. If you have the correct wiring, installation will be easy, and if you don't, you're going to have a bad time.
