I have/have used many hooks in my life, from homemade to expensive professional ones, so I am good at judging quality and usefulness. Although officially cage sized, I bought it (as a professional herpetologist) for use on international field expeditions as the easiest hook to fit in any luggage and always have with me even when expedition bags with longer hooks and tongs are not available. While some snakes I encounter are too large to safely handle, most are not, and I like being able to pin things long enough to gain a few extra seconds to be 100% confident in my identification. to be safe, especially when I'm working in a new place. Great construction, good weight - can't wait to use it!
