The plumbing hose seems very tight

I bought this to use with a Cruise America rental car. The 3 inch coiled hose that came with the van was VERY tight. It would jam if the coil gets tangled. Turning the clamp worked like a dream. The guide was already set up correctly for the Cruise America hose (hooray!) After that everything behaved correctly and easily. Smooth: Turning the clamp the other way and removing the hose was easy as it didn't turn that way. It was possible to work with one elbow in gloves.
