I have a Comcast Gigabit Pro, fiber in the house connected to a Comcast Juniper ACX2100-AC. Have 1 SFP+ port and 1 Ethernet port. Both have static IP addresses as part of the Pro service. I bought my first PEX10000SFP on November 5, 2015 because it was on the list of valid cards to connect to Juniper. It was set up and working when my service was activated and I have a W10 workstation with this NIC connected to an SFP+ adapter in one of the Juniper ports. It worked fine for two years, but during that time all the W10 icons would light up every few days. The desktop is flashing and I lost internet on the sfp+ port. Disabling and re-enabling the PEX10000SFP adapter fixed the issue. Eventually I got so fed up that I contacted Tehuti. As a result, I bought another PEX10000SFP on March 29, 2018, hoping that this new card would solve my problem. Do not go. I will not contact Juniper. The counted card was bad so I got another one on March 30, 2018. Same problem, no communication with Juniper. So I switched to another NIC, 10Gtek Intel E10G41BTDAG1P5 82599ES Chipset 10Gb Ethernet Converged Network Adapter (NIC), Single Port SFP+, PCI Express 2.0 X8, same as X520-DA1/X520-SR1, and newer transceiver, 10Gtek for Intel E10GSFPSR, 10Gb/s SFP+ transceiver, 10GBASE-SR, MMF, 850nm, 300m. Fixed issue. A secure connection to Juniper and no more flashing icons. That's why I wrote about it in Tehuti. Here is my resume. "The problem is solved. The 10Gtek X520-DA1 card replaced the PEX10000SFP. I bought my first PEX10000SFP in November 2015. Does not communicate with Juniper until I enter a static IP address. Period from 2015 to March 2018 Acceptable, but had to connect without IP in adapter settings. At some point I got frustrated with this and looked for a solution with Tehuti (i.e. Nir) Second PEX10000SFP I bought on March 29, 2018 wouldn't mess with Juniper, with or without static IP -Address in adapter March 30, 2018 No communication with Juniper with or without static IP address Juniper works fine with static IP My experience with the PEX10000SFP was not very good From my point of view it was the PEX10000SFP that caused the problem .I understand that you think this is my machine but my experience contradicts this opinion.thanks for trying to help me." Conclusion: if you use this PEX10000SFP network card end to communicate with Juniper, you may find that it is not communicating. Try an older 10Gtek Converged Network Adapter (CNA) with a 10Gb SFP+ transceiver. If you are a Comcast Gigabit Pro customer, be sure to choose 10GTeck as Comcast also recommends this card.
