Looking for fast external storage performance for my 2019 16" MacBook Pro (Big Sur), I purchased this Trebleet Thunderbolt 3 NVME SSD enclosure. The results were conflicting and varied, especially when recording.I tested this with three different NVMe SSDs - Western Digital SN750 Black 500GB, XPG 2TB, Samsung 970 Pro (which are not supported by Trebleet).I used Blackmagic speed test for performance testing.Used one Western Digital Black 500GB NVMe SSD – read and write speeds were 2.3 GB/s on the first pass, write speeds were 1.2 GB/s on all subsequent passes (from 1 to 1.2), while read speed was at 2, 3GB/s remained XPG 2TB NVMe SSD – Write performance was more stable at 1.4GB/s and read speed at 1.8GB/s Trebleet specifically states the S not support amsung 970plus NVMe SSD. writes about f 1.2 GB/s and reads 2.5 GB/s. I was expecting sustained write and read performance of 2GB/s as each of these NVMe is capable of that. Unfortunately, I have not. Another issue was the Trebleet's operating temperature, a whopping 115.8 degrees Fahrenheit. I bought a Sabrent USB 3.1 (with USB-C) here on Amazon - Thunderbolt 3, I'm getting stable numbers of 950MB/s and the operating temperature is usually in the 93-96 degree range, and it costs a third of the Trebleet price Devices.
