Review on Fly Racing Maverik Boot (White/Black by Hesham Peltier

An adventure with every upshift

Nancy Sinatra sang "These boots are made for walking”, but she didn't wear these boots. They're not made for walking...or shifting gears even after I move the shifter up a notch. They are so stiff that it is almost impossible to bend your left leg. They're also bulky, so I don't "feel" them either. I've had MX boots before and expect them to be stiff - they're supposed to be that way to provide ankle protection, but they're incredibly stiff out of the box. Maybe in about 20 hours I'll lose the Iron Man experience with every step? let's hope Other than that: the fit is true to size, I wear size 10 shoes and they fit a size 10 perfectly. Sure, they're stiff and not exactly 100% comfortable for my feet, but I'm hoping that they will help my foot over time fit a little better. . The buckles are a bit chunky, my main gripe with the calf velcro doesn't seem to be at the right angle (but I don't have weightlifting calves). They are warm, there is no ventilation, which is a bit annoying in the desert, feet sweat in them. They stick out over my calves to protect my shins well. The padding is bulky and jeans don't fit over it, but that's okay. Overall pretty good boots for the price but they are stiff so I have to give them one star.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
