This tool was bought for the occasional desoldering job. I wasn't planning on using it too much so I didn't want to look for something prettier and settled on this guy that looked like something in between. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to find this product was surprisingly good quality for $5. It is well made and sturdy, easy to take apart for cleaning. It does an excellent job removing solder, and its [almost] all-metal construction feels solid enough to last. No complaints. These tools are essential for any soldering job. not just soldering. They're great for cleaning up when you make a mistake and overfill or solder a cold joint - just melt the joint and put up with this guy and then start over. This guy will save you a lot more than $5 of your time.
