To be honest I read the reviews and was initially skeptical about this little plastic thing. However, we used them to lull our 2.5 year old twins to sleep who suddenly stopped sleeping through the night. They are in separate rooms. We used this door monkey in combination with Ok to Wake Owl. I showed them how it worked and told them that it's up to them to decide whether or not to wear a door monkey. The first night they didn't want it at the door and if they opened the door in the morning before the owl woke them up we usually had to use a door monkey. Of course they opened their door, so the door monkey ran upstairs. A quick kiss and back to bed. Of course they got out, tried to open the door, cried. After 8 minutes they basically gave up, got into their bed, stayed there and went to sleep. Now it's part of their sleep routine, they ask for the 'door monkey', we put it on and they take comfort in knowing it's there. I'm not sure if I'm happy or angry that I've waited 3 months (an agonizing 3 hour sleep routine with no life for me). So basically the door monkey and the glowing owl taught my kids to sleep. Unbelievable!
