Edit: July 6, 2020 Ningpu 12000btu portable air conditioner stopped working after less than two months. And, of course, we've already passed our due return date. Even before the temperature rose to 90+, the device started to work more like a fan. The compressor turns on less often, and sometimes not at all, which significantly reduces the amount of cold air produced. Even when the compressor turns on, the air is no longer cold, just cool. It definitely does NOT come close to cooling our living room. In fact, the only way to benefit from the device is to sit right in front of it. It's as noisy as ever, and to make matters worse, our electric bill went up $70 compared to our real air conditioner. Conclusion: two months, now only occasionally cool air (not cold), increased our electricity bill, very noisy. The Ningpu 12000btu portable air conditioner does a great job of keeping you cool here. We only installed it last night, but so far it's having a big impact on the temperature in half of our house (our house isn't large and has an open floor plan). It's 82 today, but it feels like 85 with 62% humidity. We set Ningpu to quiet and 71. After only 20 minutes it is 73 according to our thermostat. However, it is VERY loud. Louder than I expected. We can still watch TV, but the soundbar needs to be set to at least 4 to even hear what people are saying. But I think in order to be comfortable in the summer heat, until we replace our air conditioner and a large window unit sticks out the front of our house, we can deal with the noise. The remote control is very easy to use. a bit of pain. The horn, which is attached to the window panel, does not go to the exhaust pipe. We ended up having to secure it with white tape (not that noticeable). The window panel was too wide for our window and we had to trim the rear sliding panel to fit. We have standard size windows. I am giving this air conditioner 4 stars instead of 5 because of the noise and installation issues. I just hope its amazing cooling performance continues.
