Review on Zhitunemi Medieval Costume Women'S Halloween Dress - Renaissance Gothic Gown For Midevil Faire by Dawn Mattheis

I purchased this to wear at work on Halloween and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was and at the fabric/sewing quality for being a costume. NO raw edges! I received ALOT of compliments.QUALITY: The material is a soft medium weight velvet fabric with some stretch. not thin and see-through and not so thick and stiff that it loses proper drape/flow. The wrinkles from packaging almost disappeared after letting it hang on a hanger for about a week. There was a bit of static but I just rubbed a dryer sheet on the inside of the skirt and it was no longer an issue.FIT/SIZING: I was unsure what size to get since costumes tend to run extremely small but the reviews all said it ran pretty true so I ordered three sizes to try: XL, 2X, 3X. The 2X worked the best as I'm a bit full in the middle (the XL might have worked if my shape was different). I'm a size 14/16 and 5'6" at about 185#.LENGTH: The length was about perfect. I would say if you are under 5'5" then you may have to shorten it or lift the front of the skirt when you walk.COMPLAINTS: My only complaint would be that the fabric used for the edging is rather an ugly yellow. It's not velvet like the rest of the dress but a stretchy plain polyester fabric that seems a bit out of place in my opinion. I think that if it was either velvet or an actual "metallic" gold it would give the dress a much more polished and less "costume-like" appearance. (If I get ambitious I might try to swap this out myself.)CONCLUSION: This is a versatile, well made, and comfortable dress especially for the price point. I used it as a witch costume this year but it could easily be turned into a vampire, elf, princess, period costume, etc. I expect to get many years of use out of this dress. Overall I'm really pleased with the purchase and highly recommend it!
