Review on 256GB ADATA SU900 SATA Ultimate Solid State Drive by Jnis Bisters ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Overall it's not bad, but I expected more.

A typical piece of hardware on the SM2258, like a bunch of other cheap SSDs on the SM2258 and its version without the SM2258XT buffer. But ADATA was able to distinguish itself, if your SSD has firmware P0818A or older P0802A (you can see the release note for the firmware in crystaldiskinfo - ), thencomngratulations, you almost certainly you will be among those who put 1 point and write that your SSD died after a short time of operation. In my case, he also died, died quickly. And there is a choice: return and forget about this SSD, or flash it to a more recent firmware version and use it further. By firmware: - flasher for SM2258 withcomnfig for this SSD, 256GB - be sure to check what kind of memory and buffer you have, if the volume is different, do not forget to change it. - spectek PFB70-6AS memory is defined by software as Micron. Spectek is a micron subsidiary and your memory is a TLC cull. Buffer - samsung ddr3 400MHz, 256MB. All reviewers have micron memory with ADATA marking, NANYA buffer. - not on everycomputer you can flash it, it depends on the satacomntroller. - flasher password - two spaces "". - type in your serial (warrantycomde in the "begin serial" field), WWN. - beforecomnnecting to acomputer for flashing, you need to short-circuit pins J3. They can be short-circuited without tearing off the stickers (if youcomntrive). - in thecomnfig off. "disable l06 direct write" - this will disable SLC caching, which will give a stable speed of 450-500MBps on the entire volume of the disk, without failures, + reduce memory wear. Who needs SLC - incl. - on the "Test" tab, the Start button may not be visible, make the window wider.

Pros
  • Pretty good piece of iron on SM2258
