Second day of owning this gate. I like her! Real one-hand operation and very easy opening. The tension on the latch isn't too tight, but just enough that once my child understands how to use it, he could slide it and press the button. Anything longer than a day will last a while with its destructive power. The opening width is ok. I've read that some people have complained about this, but seriously, folks, we don't drive cattle through there. He is well built and strong. Peepers are good, and if for some reason you're actually herding cattle, they come with round little cups (or whatever they're called). You can screw them to the wall and the tensioners are put in. Very good goal! Second gate ordered. This one was just as quick as the first one, but when I installed this one I noticed the locking mechanism was binding. When I press the button and slide the latch back, it stays in place. I lubricated the inside and it seems better. Still pleased with the style and durability of this gate. So far, my son has not escaped the prison he often deserves!
