Review on Enhance Sound Quality with Rolls EQ570 Audio Equalizer by Josh Dyer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very satisfied. Used to switch audio signature between iPad and HiFi via bluetooth receiver

What I use: I have this between a high quality bluetooth receiver and my amp to allow a simple EQ to be applied to all audio output from mine can iPad to my hi-fi system. It has many other uses in terms of placement in the system. **More details below but will be updated in a week. I am very happy. It does exactly what I hoped it would and does it very well. I highly recommend it. I have an Auris Blume HD Long Range Bluetooth 5.0 receiver connected to my amp. It has both analog and digital output. I play music from my iPad to my hi-fi system via an Audi receiver. I have eclectic musical tastes spanning decades and would like most older music (pop, rock, etc.) to have a fuller sound and more low-end bass. Most modern music has a lot of it (perhaps too much for some things. I wanted to be able to easily switch the sound profile of my hi-fi system with the remote control. And it totally worked. Here's how it works: I connected an analog signal from an Auris Bluetooth Receiver (which btw accepts high quality ACC data from an IOS device and (the Auris) has an exceptional DAC) My amp too I took this Rolls EQ and plugged it between the Auris analog outputs and the amp The amp doesn't have one Tape monitor switch I could use for this feature (EQ looping) but I have an optical/digital Auris output to the TV on the amp that accepts the digital input and the analogue from Rolls to the amp's CD input I've boosted the lowest and highest frequencies on the rolls so they don't work, essentially like volume compensation, with a little more force on the Bass indicators at high frequencies. Now I can switch between TV input (just a term for it - that's the optimal signal from Auris, from my iPad) and CD input (analogue signal from Auris modified by Rolls) and can instantly switch my sound to a fuller specific one old music or when I need a volume type function to enumerate a favorite volume. This all works great because, as they point out, Rolls takes input from line-level analog and sends it to your amp with a changed sound. Wonderful. The wheels make a very well-made, robust impression. Someone noticed how small it is. It doesn't seem that small to me. The knobs are a reasonable size, have very "tactile" detents for determining neutral position, and all seem to fine-tune the specified ranges (I tried to test this with a test music album in a simple way). It works out. It has many uses and does exactly what I hoped it would. It also has a kind of cool retro look that I really like.

Pros
  • Input Impedance: 47k
Cons
  • Has flaws
