This was a much cheaper option for 6 Honeywell filters than most other similar packs at Revain. Overall, I think it's worth saving the money and going for these instead of the versions that cost $15 or more each. I bought a couple of these last year and to be honest they don't get much better than these. These filters are a thick, stretchy substance with a mesh structure that allows water to seep up and saturate the entire filter, and then the humidifier fan blows through them, creating slightly humid air. If it was more paper I suspect they would create more fog, but then again they would fall apart more easily and mold faster. Be that as it may, one file can take several months. Be sure to check regularly to see if mold has grown on it, as this happens naturally (airborne particles can settle out through the humidifier - that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong!). If it gets moldy or falls apart, you can throw it away and use a new one.
