Review on Thermaltake BlacX Duet 5G HDD/SSD docking station, black by Adam Kowalski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

My BlacX Duet is probably 10 years old. It works absolutely fine, it's not buggy. It's usb2.0 + e-sata. Through e-sata, the speed is 2 times higher. The only cant is the fastening of the usb plug in the base itself is not very good, it seems to walk in it, if you move it or hit it hard during operation - the screw can "fall off" in Windows. But if you don't touch it then there is no problem. I, as it were, once when I just bought it and decided to rearrange this miracle on the included one - I caught this "bug". But you don't move the base in this way - so there are no problems. Of course, ideally it would be better if it had a normal socket, but what can you do) Everything is ok with e-sata - everything fits in there rigidly and does not move. The price was where 1800, well, at that rate ~ 60 bucks anyway.

Pros
  • - Compact\convenient\reliable. Appearance is also pleasant. I have a chrome color model (silver on the sides) + black.
Cons
  • - The usb socket in the base does not hold the connector firmly. If you move your fingers the connector itself in the socket - it fidgets. - Low data transfer rate by modern standards
