Working but badly broken
I never realized how bad they were until I swapped them out for another brand. dB attenuation never worked on either device. One was broken, the speakers kept going out. The failed unit killed a woofer. Added a lot of distortion that was visible with an oscilloscope and also audible at high frequencies. They worked for at least one. The sad thing is that there are better options at a lower price.
