Price alternative to jacks

Struts were fitted to a 2005 Acura TL but not quite perfect. Easy to install, but doesn't offer cushioning like the OEM. I also tried flipping them and after the first try they were soft like they were cooked. Anyway, I can hold it on the way up and I know it won't fall on my head while I'm working on the engine.
