Out of sight but within reach

I've tried a few dash/windshield phone docks and if you're not constantly looking at your phone (e.g. for GPS/navigation) they turn out can be more of a disadvantage than an advantage: - You need to find a place that doesn't obstruct your view but is easy to see AND that is within easy reach - If you are using a charger and/or headphone cable, the cable may interfere with the dashboard . Controls - Nothing remotely advertises that "I probably have electronics in the car" like a suction cup mount on the windshield and a bunch of cords dangling from it. That's how I came here. This dock allows me to keep my phone close and visible so I can see and control it for calls and use voice control. Since it is installed below, the charging cable does not interfere with the control panel. And if you look at the photo I provided I can hold the phone next to the Bluetooth adapter. Installation was very easy. Remove the plastic dust cap from the mounting screw. under screw and washer. Tighten the screw. (In my situation, the dust cap has to be removed.) The gooseneck is incredibly stiff, which is fine if you don't plan on adjusting it often and want it to stay in place. As for the tremors mentioned in some reviews, for me it's much more noticeable when the car isn't moving, but there is engine vibration or the passenger is moving, causing the car to shake slightly. I don't let that distract me, and the situation can be corrected by positioning the gooseneck so that it touches something soft (e.g. a car seat).
