I thought it would be a fantastic solution to connect my new Dell Precision Displayport to either my old monitor (VGA only) or any other monitor. I have several inputs including VGA available from several small televisions. And in the beginning it was. How could I complain for $8? Well I bought it in February and in July the picture on my TV screen started flickering with lines and dots. I've found that if I wiggle the connection, it works again. But foolishly I assumed that a decade ago there was a problem with the connector on the Nvidia graphics card. I didn't think of the Moread cable with electronic digital-to-analog converter. So I ordered a new graphics card and encountered the same problem. Meanwhile, the connection wobble stopped working and I had no display for this server. I had to run RDP from another computer to work on the server. Needless to say, I finally figured out that the problem was the Moread Display to VGA port converter. And this problem seems to be common to all Displayport to VGA converters because the electronics are unreliable. I ordered a DisplayPort to HDMI converter. No conversion required. And I don't need bi-directional or resolution above 1080P. Of course I didn't buy Moreread this time either. If you need to convert your displayport to VGA, which isn't a good idea anyway, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
