I bought the iTrack key finder for my two teenage sons who lose keys all the time, sometimes for a day or two. I hope this simple gadget will help stop the madness. Everyone hooked it up to their iPhone 6 and it was up and running in no time, but I'm pretty sure they had to download the app first. Now they can either press a button on the iTrack and find the phone, or use the phone to find the iTrack that is on their keychain. Each device emits an audible series of tones when another device is called. Other reviewers said the range isn't great, but usually the person at least has an idea of where they last had keys, so can find them reasonably efficiently using iTrack. Damn my kids can hopelessly lose their keys in the same room without going anywhere. LAUGH OUT LOUD! (I'm not sure, but there might also be a way to somehow "track" the iTrack with the iPhone. I'll try to get a direct answer on that soon and update the review.) I have that too Liked the fact that this particular device has a removable battery. Some had permanent batteries and are therefore disposable. TO UPDATE. 4 days have now passed and now we know that with the appropriate app installed on the iPhone, you can first locate the iTrack via GPS and find out where it is - for example, the buddy's house, grandma's house . , church, hardware store, corner of 5th and main, etc. You can then go there and start the search process by watching your phone and using the hot or cold method. It sends 4 different proximity alerts to let you know if you are 'very far', 'far', 'near' or 'very close'. Once you know you're "very close," you can turn on the audio and listen to it, go straight to the keys under the center pillow of the couch, up the steps in the grass, or whatever. (Or maybe even in a certain thief's pocket I think LOL!). However, iTrack can only send audio to iPhone, which is much better than nothing. Usually things get lost in a pretty obvious place. We love it. I also like that you can change the batteries and last for years if you want. Some others are only meant to last a year or so before the permanent battery dies and you have to buy another whole device (and maybe learn how to use it again). A disposable item can even last less than a year if kept by serial key/phone losers like my two kids. There's no excuse for lost keys now, but people trying to use it to find "stray" lost pets might get frustrated. I assume it works fine with "settled" lost pets. Unfortunately, I can't tell you whether it works the same way on other cell phones. We only have one iPhone 6s in our house. I wish I had had one a few years ago when someone took my keys to unlock something, then stuck them on the bumper and drove away. I'm still paying for that stupid mistake.
