Before the New Year, I wanted to replace the ugly bright white LEDs in a pair of pendant lights. I bought a Philips unit, this 4 unit and happened to have a 4 unit Hudson which turned out to be no LED. The lights from this (reviewed) 4-bulb set caught on for a number of reasons: First, they were actually LEDs. I didn't go back to check if Hudson actually makes the LED bulb or if they just sent me the wrong item, it really doesn't matter. Second, there were no noticeable differences from Philips LEDs, which were more expensive per piece. The Philips' glass is tinted orange, I'm not sure why, or it just means it looks dated during the day. Compared to true Edison bulbs, LEDs are clearly not as attractive. There is a visual difference between four small LED tubes and four filaments. At the same time, the light from the LEDs has a very pleasant warm orange color. Since these lamps are used fairly regularly, savings in energy costs affect the decision-making process in the long run.
