These durable clear bags are great! I had to store my son's backpacks in the garage and used these bags to protect them from dust. The pouches are oddly shaped and I wanted the pouches to fit their shape better so I vacuumed the air. Roll up the top and put the vacuum hose through the hole. Once the air has escaped (it may take a few tries to adjust the hose) simply pull the hose out, screw the bag into place, secure the twisted plastic with a loop and secure with tape or a zip tie. The vacuum has compressed the bags into the shape of backpacks and after a couple of weeks the bags are still vacuumed. This makes the bags more compact and the contents more visible. These bags are not designed for vacuum storage so I don't know how long they will hold the vacuum but so far so good.
