(Update) This review is specific to Fiio Q1 Mk2, I did a little research and there is only one cable recommended directly by Fiio. A link to this cable can be found on page Q1 in the Product Questions section. The cable is called "MFi05" only sold on aliexpress and is specially designed for Q1 and Q5 and not compatible with any other DAC/amplifier. I changed my rating from 1 star to 3 stars to be neutral as they removed Fiio compatibility from their main description and it should be compatible with the other models listed. I'm sure it would continue if it worked, but it doesn't. I got it for my Fiio Q1 Mk2 because the cable that Fiio supplied looks really crappy and for some reason they don't sell a replacement. I did a little research online and everyone trying to replace them says regular Lightning to Micro USB OTG cables don't work. The cable must be specially made for the DAC/amplifier. I only found 3 with good reviews, but they are only sold on aliexpress and the delivery time is about a month. It doesn't specifically talk about Fiio Q1, but about Fiio ek10, so I assume it should be compatible. And before I wrote this review, I saw that someone asked a question about a cable that works with Q1 and someone from the company answered yes, so it should 100% work. The problem is that it doesn't work when I got it and plugged it in, the first time it worked then I flipped the zip to make sure the cable was 100% working but that didn't help (only worked one way , but Micro USB only connects one way so I think everything is fine). it wouldn't work a second time so I plugged it in a couple of times and it worked or stopped, tried to charge the fiio or didn't do anything. What the original cable doesn't do is the charge indicator lights up for a second and then turns blue, while the original cable completely ignores attempts to charge the DAC. ALSO AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE ELBOW WITH THE LIGHTNING FORK WILL HEAT WHEN CONNECTING, WHEN PLUGGED IN, not the cable but the thick plastic part of the elbow. Lightning cables have chips that do something. I have contacted Amazon for a replacement in case I have a defective cable and the replacement performs even less than the first. The first cable sometimes worked, although I never used it because the flash's leg got hot. The replacement stops the song and does nothing, the original Fiio cable redirects the sound every time, even during playback. The images show both cables above and the original Fiio cable below for size comparison and as proof that I've tried 2, the Q1 is covered in black vinyl with a gold Sennheiser logo decal on the right side, but it is a normal Q1 .
