Works fine with a little help!

This basket is great, it's a good size and very comfortable for your pet. My problem, not the basket, is that my dog is too heavy to stand up safely. However, I bought a large old-fashioned wire newspaper basket and attached this to it. Works great and more importantly my dog feels comfortable and safe. Also easy to remove if the dog is not taken. So if your dog is over the max weight this is a great alternative, it's a great basket anyway!
