Okay, I don't write many reviews of the products I buy, but this review should be golden information for those who consider it. First, the brush head works VERY well. He pulled the dog hair out of the carpet as if the carpet was almost made of dog hair. But I have to tell you that the handle on this device is complete rubbish. I can say it will last about a week since I use it (we have a densely stacked rug btw) and two border collies. So here is the fix I used. I took my old, very strong, wood-metal stick with a handle that attaches to the paint roller. It is perfectly screwed to the brush head. To keep the head from turning on the handle I then hammered a TEK #10 x 3/4" (self drilling) into the brush receptacle and then into the replacement handle described above. Then I "went to town" "." with him in two bedrooms. You know it's time to clean your head when it starts to slip, not drag on the carpet. I used a fine-toothed aluminum comb to pull the hair out of the brush head when it got full. (very comfortable feeling) Attached pictures speak for themselves Buy this product for the brush head, but definitely plan to strengthen the handle part if you plan to work the brush with effort. Just received so I have no comments on the durability of the brush heads oh and on the stairs it works very well for the step part then I just use a regular dog brush if you want to remove pet hair from the carpet this unit will definitely do the job. IMHO don't waste your time and money on other carpet rakes (like me). They simply lift the pile like any good vacuum would. I would give this thing five stars but don't know about durability yet and they really shouldn't ship them with a handle like that. Did I mention my aversion to the pen?
