I bought this camera a few months ago and found that there is no way to add screw mount filters like UV or polarizing filters. I didn't test it at the time, but at this price point I expected these kinds of capabilities from a mid-range bridge camera. I bought this camera as a travel camera so I didn't have to carry around three lenses and a camera. I loved the ability of polarizing filters to bring deep blue skies and white fluffy clouds to landscape shots. I wanted to add a UV filter for protection, but I have to do without it. Is it a good camera yes I would look for another camera to get a filter mount yes. I wanted a camera that uses AA batteries after the lithium battery charger failed whilst in England for 3 months of hiking and bus travel it took 3 weeks to swap out and it would have cost over Β£100. Luckily I had a short zoom and was shooting on AA batteries, but I lost the ability to get the wide angle shots needed in the narrow streets of London and the English countryside. AA batteries are readily available everywhere. When I'm traveling with a DSLR, I take a backup charger and half a dozen batteries with me. Before my next trip in 2013 I will buy something else with a threaded filter mount.
