Review on πŸ”Š Sony STR-DH510 AV Receiver 5.1: Exceptional Sound Quality and Performance by Riko Tateishi ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The right product for me, the price suited me.

A good device for scoring a room up to 20m for watching movies and listening to music. You can’t get records from him, but he copes well with the tasks set. Plays music from a computer via HDMI with a bit rate up to 96kHz/24. The manual doesn't say anything about load impedance requirements. From experience it works great even on 3 ohm acoustics. 85 watts per stereo channel for a room up to 20m is enough to create 96-100db. As for coloring the sound and everything else - it depends on the acoustics used. Played well with Warfills 8.3 and custom-designed floorstands. Here what is called it is necessary to select under the ears. I did not notice any special timbre coloring of the sound. Of course, you need to figure out the settings, but they allow you to adjust the sound and image over a wide range. I advise you to purchase a subwoofer for it with a power of 150W or more. In general, a strong middle peasant, honestly working out his $300. A good choice to step into the world of high quality sound.

Pros
  • A good set of inputs, everything is there and no frills. A complete set of features for watching movies. Relatively simple interface. Good DAC 96 kHz / 24 bit. Muzzle design. The presence of modes of direct sound output without processing. Price.
Cons
  • Low power. 85 watts to the fronts + 25 watts to the rear / center. Some "dampness" of the sound settings menu. It is not always immediately clear what is meant.
