This scrubber is very powerful. Cleaning side on both sides! There is a thin sponge between the two sides. He "holds" the soap. I'm deducting a star because of the thinness of the sponge. I think it would be better if they made this sponge a bit thicker. The Scrubex Advanced Heavy Duty Antimicrobial Double Sided Cleaning Pads are really good sponges that can clean almost anything but stainless steel appliances. He claims to clean grills, which I can easily see, but I don't do grills! My son takes care of the grill so I told him he could use it too. Otherwise I've had great results with my pots and pans, glasses and saucepans. I think what I like most is the lack of bad odors coming out of the scrubber after use. That's really important to me. Aside from the overly thin center sponge, I'm really impressed with these scrubex pads. They can definitely deal with the toughest burnt messes. Not that I burned too much food, but when I did I knew they were there! I highly recommend Scrubex cleaning sponges.
