Aside from smelling like new leather to me, this product is also well made. I've been using it on my vintage safety razor for a few months now and while it doesn't need much maintenance it's still as aesthetically pleasing as the day I got it. I slip it on and off my safety razor without removing the blade and so far I've only noticed superficial wear on the inside - surface discoloration rather than actual wear marks to be expected when metal edges slide across the underside. (inside) leather. After about a week, it took on the shape of my razor for quick and easy removal and replacement. I highly recommend this product.
