Review on 🔧 Beadsmith Jump Ring Coil-Cutting Pliers: Essential Jewelry Making Tool by Carla Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Extremely Bad Design

I tried using this tool this afternoon. Before I describe how it was, please understand that I have been making wire jewelry for a number of years, have a wide range of very good tools and know what I am doing. Usually, to make jump rings, I wrap the coil in tape, clamp it in a vise on the bench, and saw it. But I figured this tool would be quick and easy to create multiple jump rings on the fly. I was wrong. You need to set up the tool carefully, load it with the correct length of coil so that the front ones don't fall out when sawing, and then hold it with the right amount of force to secure the spool without bending it. the cable. And all this for what? Maybe 10 jump rings if you're lucky. There are much better ways to make large numbers of jump rings. This isn't a tool to save you time - even using flush cutters is faster and better. Has anyone at Beadsmith tried this during product development? What a waste of money. Pros
  • BOX CONNECTION DESIGN: Due to their box connection design, these pliers can easily withstand heavy loads.
Cons
