Review on πŸŒ€ Fantech - High Efficiency DBLT 4W Lint Trap with 4" Duct by Becky Evans

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product is extremely overpriced for all the work that needs to be done with it.

Does what it's supposed to do, but it takes effort to get it where it's supposed to be. When you receive it, hold it up to the light. You will see that all 4 back corners let in light. Use metal foil tape to seal all four. Then put the lid on and hold it up to the light while looking through the opening. Close the other side vent by hand. You will see that all four corners near the door are leaking and everything around the door is leaking. Use strong plastic tape (I used duct tape) to seal the corners, then cover with metal foil. You need additional force because the screen pushes through the foil strip too easily when it is inserted. Get door/window insulation that is very pliable. We had to use open cell rubber because our closed cell rubber didn't compress enough. Place it on the back of the cover where it meets the body. We also added a strip of rubber foam insulation along the bottom of the case where the shield meets the notch on this type of insulation. Now that you are doing a light test you have a well sealed box. We attached our box to the drywall with two screws inside the box. One top center and one bottom center to avoid screen conflicts. We also covered the screw heads with foil tape to keep lint out. Please note that the lid does not fit the box perfectly as you can see on the product image. Although our box is flat, the installation looks bad because the lid is crooked. Another reviewer also mentioned this. I gave it 3 stars because all you have to do is make it work like a sealed box. It really deserves 2 stars due to the misaligned lid, but we love it because lint stops collecting near the outside vent which is right outside our front door, so I've bumped it up to 3. Would like to find a better manufacturer. but I haven't seen anything better.
