to an AC outlet I have unique settings and I'm used to having a small fan blowing on me or at least near me when I'm using the computer. This model replaces a 4 or 5 year old fan that was literally a small desktop fan that was downsized and USB powered. The mounts and angles possible with this fan are much easier to rotate and steer than the old one. Also, the fan is almost silent on low settings, which is what I use most of the time. It produces a noticeable sound in the highs, but so powerful that I can't imagine anyone having to hold it up for long. I've been using it for several weeks and I'm very happy with it. Will update the review if it crashes early or encounters an unforeseen issue.
