Despite some reviews here I bought this charger to see for myself if it works. My main reason for buying is that I have 3 Optima Yellow Top batteries and a few others. Day 1: Plugged this little charger into my recently failed battery from my truck. When plugged in, it showed 10.8 volts after selecting the appropriate Optima battery type. I left to do my routine. I should note that this battery has been placed on several other charges (I have 4 different chargers including an AGM Battery Tender, a regular Battery Tender, a Craftsman 2/6/10 amp charger and a Schumacher multi amp charger with Deep Cycle / NONE of them were able to fully charge all my Optima batteries Day 2 I went out to check the progress and Optima 400 showed 100% charge I checked the voltage with a Fluke multimeter and it showed 12, 8v on I installed the battery charger on a refurbished battery Green service lights came on Battery has been repaired! had considered dead battery but I connected a 400 and left overnight Day 3: Second Optima Yellow-Top stayed all day at 50%.Day 4: 400 found in failure mode Charger unplugged and plugged back in, left overnight Day 5: After using this unit for 2 days i I'm glad it showed 100% charge! with the performance of a Fluke multimeter, and it was 12.8 V! I connected my second Battery Tender to this to keep it charged. Charged my 3rd Optima Yellow top. I didn't measure the voltage beforehand. Day 6: I checked the night charge and the battery is already 100% charged and in maintenance mode! Conclusion - I had 3 dead Optima batteries for $270 each. I wanted to get rid of them but I knew they had a recovery mode. Now I saved $821 - $109 (charger) = $713. This investment has paid off almost 7 times in less than a week. Bottom line, this little charger really works! Buy it, you won't regret it.
