Fabulous bottles, questionable caps

I purchased Aquatix many years ago. Never had a single problem. It kept things cold almost forever. It kept everything hot for a while. I've dropped it countless times and only dents have remained on it, but it has never affected use. Unfortunately I had some problems with the latter. The lower part, which sort of completes the bottom of the bottle, used to be a little deeper and held up better. I dropped one of my new bottles, the bottom rim bent and fell off. I could easily nail it to my uniform and put it back on, but now it's only held in place by the bottom rubber grip (which I didn't put on before). Of the two bottles I received I sent one back for a larger size. And out of those two bottles, one stopped opening the cap within a week. (They sent me a free replacement, that was great!), and the one I dropped managed to snap the lid at the link when it fell (it was closed at the time, not open ). The bottle was also empty at this point. So honestly I'm wondering if the quality control on the lids has gotten worse or if I'm just unlucky. I guess we'll have to see how the bottle/cap handles this moment. I'll be sure to let you know if something else doesn't work. About the positive. The bottle still does what it's supposed to do. Cold water without ice stays cold for more than 24 hours. I haven't tried hot in these newer ones, but I bet they work there too. I love that they added strap and clip options, and the rubber base (offered on some but also sold separately) is a nice feature too. I prefer the old lid lock style where the lock was at the bottom where the knob is rather than in the middle, but that's a preference and probably just something I'm as used to as anything else.
