All ten ballasts in the kit work great. There is a start delay of about 1/2 second - possibly due to power factor correction - followed by instantaneous lamp ignition. Instant start means easy wiring. The work is absolutely silent. I bought them to upgrade ten cheap twin tube T12 fixtures with nasty crappy ballasts. You can use both two and three tubes. For twin tube fixtures, connect the extra cable and enjoy 101% T8 lamp performance instead of the typical 85-89%. For this light output I could not find anything better for the price. If you are upgrading a T12 quick start bulb you will need to remove the wires from the bulb socket cobbles and reconfigure them as bridged. I gently tugged on the wires while rotating the tombstones, thereby "unscrewing" the wire without damaging the tombstone. The ballast comes with lots of extra wires to bridge two pins on each lamp holder. To work with two tubes, I folded the extra blue wire and insulated it with heat shrink tubing. For a ballast use 3P20167. The first box had the correct label but had T5 ballasts instead. The second box was perfect.
