It's good if these two connectors are connected by a cable, not a solid block. It's a wonder the monitor's VGA port wasn't broken either. With this cable connecting the two connectors, you can easily reduce rotational stresses. This works very well and your monitor should allow for color matching if the colors are not true. The picture is reliable and without "ghostly” shadows. The cable also makes the unit much shorter which helps position the two ports at just the right angle so it can be connected to monitors that have the VGA port on the bottom of the monitor AND facing down like mine.
