Mixed feelings. The hardware is perfect - everything works out of the box with 2 Samsung Enterprise Class 2210 drives, but very little increase in performance with daily use. Only settings that toggle "skip serial I/O" on or off respectively. Very little actual performance improvement over the no-cache setup. Installed in DS1819+ and mainly used for Plex, Moments, Computer Backup and Monitoring Station. I didn't notice much improvement in these apps' boot speeds or less disk access - the same constantly noisy disks were also available with Read-Wright with "skip serial I/O" disabled. Gave time to fill cache and didn't check with RW -SecI/O my raid filled 750-800G from 860G or so in a few weeks. Hope to improve cache logic with upcoming DSM7. For home use I wouldn't buy this given the cost ($650 with 2x 960G NVMe SSD). There's just no improvement. Instead I would prefer 2 more 14-16TB hard drives and a $20 10Gbe El Cheapo card.
