The microwave I replaced was over 15 years old. This one is smaller, but the cooking surface is about the same. So far I've been very happy with some reduction in hot spots and cold edges. The inverter technology seems to work as advertised. There is a great instruction manual to help me use the touch cooking feature. There are multiple buttons for different products. I haven't used everything yet. The main difference was the lack of a digital cooking pad. As previously mentioned, there are only 3 cooking time buttons. It's 10 seconds, 1 minute and 10 minutes. You simply add time with additional button presses. Since there is no way to do 5 second increments I wasn't sure if this would work, but I found that setting the time to 5 seconds had more or less no effect on the end result. Setting the power level is very easy. I would advise you to take a look at the control knobs by enlarging that part of the microwave image. So far very happy with this microwave.
