I ordered this stand to improve airflow on my 2012 13" Macbook Pro. I'm happy with the quality, looks and price but I wish the rubber gasket had grooves or corrugations. where the computer sits to allow for better airflow The hottest area under my Macbook (on the back to the left of all ports) is now almost completely covered by a rubber pad 1.5" wide on each side and spanning the full depth of the stand . My Macbook is 9" wide by 12.75" wide. That's 27 sq. in. (2 * 1.5" * 9") of rubber, which now covers almost a quarter of the bottom of the Macbook (9" * 12 .75" = 114.75 square inches). If grooves were cut or molded into these strips of rubber, the rubber that contacts the bottom of the computer would easily be cut in half. Especially if the manufacturer used a corrugated rubber band included for the buyer to cut and glue at home. The stand is very stable. All it takes are four extreme contact points and some rubber on the front where the computer rests on the stand. The amount of elastic on the stand is overkill, but it's easy to set up.
