I've kept trying to swap out the batteries to get more power, but this thing just won't sharpen a pencil after about a week of use. 15/4/16 - I'm updating this based on vendor support. . This is one of the most dedicated providers I have ever dealt with. After seeing my negative review they called me and sent me a new sharpener. They also reported that the device included a spare blade. With her help, I found it and wondered what that little screwdriver was for. The blade is too small to believe. I was able to replace it and my original sharpener worked perfectly again. When the new device came, I tried it too. It works, but only with a USB power cable. Unfortunately I could not close the battery compartment. I tried both base plates on my first sharpener and both worked well. I then tried both plates on a new sharpener and neither of them can hold the batteries in place, they fall out immediately when the sharpener is picked up and you have to slide it onto the table to keep it closed. If the second worked properly I'd give it a 4, but the need for a quick blade change on the first (obviously a known issue as a spare blade and screwdriver is supplied with each unit) combined with a defect on the second unit warrants a lower one Valuation. This provider is one of the best I've worked with and they generally care about the customer experience.
