I bought this to replace the rear brake pads on a Jetta estate. The pads were worn almost to the wear limit. The tool appears to be made from relatively heavy materials, possibly to allow the use of softer materials or to avoid heat treatment costs. In any case, the tool barely fit on one side and not on the other. If your brakes have not yet reached their wear limit, they will probably work just fine. The other issue was that it took decent torque to turn the caliper and I could flex the crank - I'm not that strong. I would advise looking for a model with turnkey flats on the spindle. Tip: Pour some brake fluid into the space where the boot meets the rotating part of the piston. Lubrication prevents the sleeve from binding and twisting as the piston rotates.
