Review on ๐Ÿถ Hurtta Summit Parka Dog Winter Coat: The Ultimate Winter Wear for Your Canine Companion by Liz Hamilton

Keeps my small city mix warm and dry in the humid Pacific NW

I have a small (22lb) dog that hates getting wet and/or cold. Living in the Pacific Northwest, it rains a lot and the winters are cold. He has a very short coat with no undercoat. Although active, he is also small and has trouble keeping warm. He loves to burrow under any bush on our walks, no matter how wet it may be. We walk about 5 miles a day, mostly on sidewalks but occasionally on trails. He doesn't come from dog parks and is always on a leash. While expensive, the Hurtta Summit Parka was worth every penny. My dog measures: 14" back, 20" chest, 15" neck. I bought a size 14 and it fits him perfectly. Both the top and base of the neck can be tightened and there is plenty of room in the Chest buckle to adjust up or down This is from the withers to the tail, not the base of the neck If you are between sizes, order more The length of the back can be shortened Advantages: - Very well made and very strong.Warm and dry under the coat.It has a flap over it that keeps the harness dry.- It's incredibly adjustable.Cons: The back buckle was reversed which was annoying but was easy to fix by unclipping it simply removed, flipped and threaded. Falls back. - I have a hard time squeezing the buckle enough to open it. To be fair I have arthritis in my hands which makes it difficult to pinch tightly. I hope it loosens up a bit.Other may not have this problem. That's not a problem, of course, because everything else to do with wool is great. My dog hates rubber bands on his hind legs. The coat stays good enough without it, so I just don't use them.
