Before buying I read the comments on this bag and bought it. This is a great bag but I will say there are some things people need to know before buying one. 1) The title is misleading. It should be labeled FIRE RETARDANT, not FIRE RETARDANT. This bag is designed as a holdall to keep documents safe or in a vault for a quick fix. Therefore, the fire class is designed to withstand brief exposure to open flames. CANNOT SIT IN AN OPEN FLAME WITHOUT DAMAGING. 2) The lock on the bag, like many holdalls, is a deterrent...this is NOT a high security lock bag. Yes, there are ways to bypass the lock, but they're just to deter and give you time to react if someone tries to get into the bag while it's in your line of sight. So no, you can't install it and forget it and think your documents are always 100% safe. The zippers are permeable, so water can penetrate over time. A quick splash won't damage your documents, but submerging this bag in water can. 4) In the description of the case it is stated that the coating consists of a double layer of silicone. So yes, it will look weird and some dust and hair will stick to it. 5) It costs $40... and it says "Bag". THIS WILL BE DAMNED. THIS IS NOT A SERIOUS CASE. IN THE DESCRIPTION THE WORD SAYS LITERALLY BAG. In conclusion, when you understand that this bag is designed so that you can quickly grab documents in an emergency or when traveling. And it's not a sturdy briefcase that can take bullets to protect your contents, I say take it. This is a great bag for keeping important documents close at hand when you need to go on the run, or if you travel frequently with documents that need to be organized and kept relatively safe.
